Vision & Challenge
UNTHA UK managed finance, projects and warehouse across Excel, Sage and a standalone stock app, which slowed decisions and made reporting hard. They had already invested in Dynamics 365 Sales and Dynamics 365 Field Service, but the team needed tighter project control and clearer visibility across delivecroyn. These disconnected tools created silos and extra manual work.
UNTHA UK wanted to bring project delivery into one connected platform. Better coordination across departments would support growth and reduce risk.

From Spreadsheets to Structured Projects
Project management inside the ERP
Advanced Projects in Business Central replaced that spreadsheet approach. UNTHA UK now runs each project on a dedicated project card with clear project tasks. The engineers book installation and configuration hours through timesheets inside Business Central. Project managers can also plan work using Gantt charts and resource management boards, which supports better scheduling and delivery control.
Sales order to project
The new setup also improved the flow from sales to delivery. When a shredder order is confirmed, the user migrates it from Dynamics 365 Sales into Business Central. It then creates the project and the project budget automatically. Sales lines link to project tasks through auto-filled project and task fields, which speeds handover and reduces manual setup. The order moves from sales to delivery for planning and execution.
Better control over purchasing and inventory
The team strengthened purchasing and inventory control by linking project budgets to procurement activity. They copy budget lines into planning lines and generate purchase orders for machines, parts, and transport services from those plans. Business Central now keeps inventory aligned with sales and purchasing automatically, which removes manual updates in the previous Stock App. As a result, UNTHA UK achieved 60% time savings in inventory management, boosting warehouse efficiency and reducing errors, while also lowering stock discrepancies and preventing delays caused by missing items.
Outcome
UNTHA UK now manages project delivery on a single Microsoft platform that connects teams and consolidates data. By replacing spreadsheet-based tracking with a live project system, the business has improved visibility and strengthened information flow across departments.
